Mrs. Sybil Chikaodili Onunaku/ Acting Bursar

Mrs. Sybil Chikaodili Onunaku, is a highly experienced and accomplished Accountant and Financial Management professional. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting (Second Class Upper Division) from Madonna University Okija, obtained in 2007. Additionally, she possesses a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Usman DanFodio University Sokoto, earned in 2011, and a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance, from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, awarded in 2016.

Mrs. Onunaku is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a registered Certified Teacher with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). Since 2020, she has been serving as the Acting University Bursar at Dominican University, leveraging her expertise to ensure the financial well-being of the institution and deliver exceptional services to students, staff, and stakeholders.

With over 14 years of experience in financial management, internal auditing, management accounting, and leadership roles across various sectors, including education, finance, healthcare, professional practice, as well as telecommunications – notably with MTN, where she put in eight years of service, Mrs. Onunaku brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Her dedication to excellence has led to notable achievements, including the establishment of the University bursary unit and the training of bursary staff, resulting in optimized performance and exceeding set objectives.

A prolific researcher and writer, Mrs. Onunaku has authored academic papers on topics such as bursary effectiveness and financial performance, presented at various workshops and conferences. Her extensive background in accounting and finance, combined with her commitment to educational excellence, makes her an invaluable asset to Dominican University Ibadan.

On a personal note, Mrs. Sybil Chikaodili Onunaku is married and blessed with wonderful children.
