Director of Centre for Professional Training and Development
Rev. Fr Lazarus Iwueke, CM is an expert in Development Studies motivated by membership of the Congregation of the Mission — a religious institution with the mission of alleviating poverty (poverty of human capital inclusive) which is the ultimate measure of development effectiveness.
He has a Master’s and a Doctorate degree in Development Studies from Kimmage Development Studies Centre, Dublin, Republic of Ireland and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka respectively. His academic background in this interdisciplinary field on the complex dynamics of economic development and social change, underscores multiple competence, versatility and capacity to integrate and adapt diverse approaches to holistic problem-solving. With over nine years of experience in development practice overarching the management of financial, academic and healthcare institutions, he has demonstrated strong conceptual and hands-on abilities in the broad field of development.
He is the pioneer Director of the Center for Professional Training and Development of the Dominican University Ibadan, Nigeria, established to serve the commitment of the University to lifelong learning and a hub for initiating, promoting, coordinating and delivering short-term bespoke professional courses, programmes, workshops and seminars relevant to changing needs, times and trends. He is currently open to suitable partnership and collaboration with reputable private and public enterprises, institutions, corporate bodies and groups to contribute to the quest for competence-based development initiatives.
