Programme Title: B. Sc. Honours Degree (Mass Communication)

Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters) or 3 Years (6 Semesters) for Direct Entry

Philosophy:

The Department is built towards achievement of the highest standard in mass communication studies for high level of professional practice.

The Department aligns with the philosophy of the University which recognizes that human and social developments are rooted in the development of the mind and morals as well. This is hinged on reach and teaching that both critically uses the intellectual heritage of the past, and is also abreast with the cutting edge of current research. The development of morals both utilizes religious and African traditional values and addresses the new personal and social problems that our parents never had to face.

Thus, the Mass Communication Programme aims to train Nigerian communication experts that would act as the trustees of the public trust and would be socially responsible to the communities they serve by ensuring accurate, fair, balanced and objectivity in their reportage of societal issues.

• Four-year programme for UTME candidates; and
• Three-year programme for Direct Entry candidates
