Sr. Mary Christine Ugobi-Onyemere, IHM (PhD), is a highly accomplished Nigerian-born researcher with a diverse academic background. Alongside her expertise in theology and philosophy, she holds diplomas in hagiology/Cause of Saints from Vatican City Studium and media studies, with a focus on liturgical communicative arts. Her specialisation in epistemological metaphysics is underscored by a licentiate in philosophy of science and Thomism.

During her scholarship in Rome, Sr. Mary Christine honed her linguistic skills, emerging as a polyglot. Her passion for knowledge-sharing led to a lectureship at Pontifical Urbaniana University, Rome, before she assumed her current role as a lecturer at Dominican University. She has earned international acclaim and made significant contributions to renowned academic conferences worldwide. Sr. Mary Christine is a member of esteemed international academic associations such as SITA Rome, RVP USA, and CAPAN Nigeria.

Recognised for her expertise, Sr. Mary Christine served as the speaker for Nigeria at the 36th International Convocation of the RnS in Rimini, Italy, and delivered a keynote address at the ICSA VIII conference in Pasadena, California, USA. She was also the sole Nigerian participant at the 11th International Thomistic Congress in Rome.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Sr. Mary Christine possesses a keen eye for aesthetic arts and design. She lectures on various aspects of aesthetics and integrates nature into interior décor, drawing inspiration from renowned artists like Demas Nwoko. Her creative endeavours extend to designing liturgical logos of notable acclaim.

Currently, Sr. Mary Christine’s research interests encompass medieval aesthetics in comparison with African aesthetics. Committed to sharing knowledge, she dedicates part of her expertise to teaching. As she prepares to delve deeper into contemporary domains, she continues to contribute valuable insights through her authored works and teaching endeavours.
