Dominican University Fund Raising Dinner
It was a memorable evening at The Colonades Hotel, 21 Alfred Rewane Street, Ikoyi, Lagos on Thursday, 17th of March, 2018 as dignitaries from around the country gathered for the Fund Raising Dinner organized by the Dominican University Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. This event was organized to generate funds to enable the university to commence work at the campus site of the university, located at Omotosho, outskirt of Ibadan. The “Omotosho Project site development” is an important phase in achieving the goal of making our university one to reckon with among the universities in Nigeria.
The event was honoured with the presence of the Emeritus Archbishop of Ibadan, Most Rev. Dr. Felix Alaba, The Archbishop of Lagos and the Emeritus, Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Martin and His Eminence, Anthony Cardinal Okogie. Key dignitaries include Former Governor of Anambra State and Chairman, Governing Council of the University, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde, SAN who is the Chairman of the fundraising dinner. Dr. A. B. C. Orjiakor, a surgeon and philanthropist, who was the chairman of the fundraising committee called on Catholics and other well-meaning Nigerians to support the university project so that the university may optimally compete with other universities within and outside the country.
The proceeds of the fundraising will be directed towards the construction of the central administrative building, faculty buildings, modern lecture halls within the academic areas and student hostels along with road networks.
